Preserving Brookville's Historic Downtown

Historic Brookville, Inc. was founded as a nonprofit organization in 1982 with the main goal to enhance Brookville's historic character and revitalize the downtown.
 

For more than 40 years, HBI’s Initiatives have included support for the installation of period-appropriate Main Street lighting, the development of a Main Street landscape plan, the creation of upper-story residential use within the downtown, facade improvement programs, coordination of the Save America’s Treasures grant program, support for the proposed Brookville Riverwalk, and for more than 30 years, the annual Victorian Christmas Celebration.
 

The most notable undertaking was the $600,000 development of the Historic Brookville Town Square that transformed forever the appearance of downtown.
